Coming together for the community

Move over Bob the builder. There’s a new DIY hero in town.

Our friends over at Chapman’s Ironmongers in Sunninghill, Berkshire, have done a great job nailing that community spirit recently. It’s a fix we all need right now in these tough times.

During the last big lockdown, the PPE crisis inspired us to use our 3D magic to print face shields for those who needed them most. And Chapman’s were amongst the businesses who helped us in our campaign to spread the PPE love, selling the shields to people in the community and raise funds for a good cause. £100 was raised and all of the proceeds (plus a contribution from the family-run business) were donated to a cause close to our heart – the Alexander Devine Hospice. Talk about the community coming together for good!

Alexander Devine help children with life-altering conditions and their families to live life to the fullest, by providing essential care and respite. Our founder Carl and his family, particularly his son Harry, who has a rare condition called Moebius Syndrome, are big supporters.

So, if the duct tape is peeling on your kid’s broken lightsaber this lockdown, definitely head to Chapman’s for all your DIY needs. People and businesses like this are priceless right now.
